A Psychedelic Interview with Marcela Ot’alora

Back in 2017, I had the honor of interviewing Marcela Ot’alora, MA LPC, psychotherapist, artist, and a trainer and supervisor of therapists for the MAPS MDMA Therapy program for a Psychedelic Club Podcast project that was unfortunately never released. Enjoy this 45-minute interview about the future of psychedelic therapy, healing, respecting the medicine in sacred space, non attachment to outcome, trust in a person’s capacity for healing, working in an alliance with the FDA, and being seen.

Notable Moments:

28:00 min Marcela begins to speak about the rare participants in the studies who are nonresponsive to the medicine or protocol or psychedelics in general.

32:00 min The importance of diversity, access, working with financial barriers for those with PTSD in diverse populations.

38:00 min Her future aspirations of training
